Thank you 2013

It has been quite sometime since I last updated my post. Yea I know, "being busy" is not always the best excuse, so let's just admit that I was "being lazy".

Well well well, so everyone posted about their 2013 Year in Review as well as their New Year's Resolutions of 2014 over the past few days...
to keep up the pace of the young people, I decided to do something similar. First resolution of 2014 is....
 "to become a stylish, hipster Granny"! OK, darn, that was a bad joke.

Thank you 2013
1. I've never travelled so much within a year.
  • January: Germany (Bad Berka, Weimar, Erfurt, Jena, Leipzig, Dresden)
  • Febuary: Germany (Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Köln, Duisburg), France (Paris), The Netherlands (Amsterdam)
  • April: Bulgaria (Plovdiv, Етъра, Veliko Tarnovo, the Balkan Mountains)
  • July-August: South Korea (Incheon, Seoul, Jeju)
  • August: Indonesia (Bali)
  • August: Malaysia (Cameron Highlands)
  • September: Thailand (Bangkok, Pattaya)
  • November: Germany (Berlin, Düsseldorf, Köln)
  • December: Germany (Rüdesheim, Loreley, Koblenz, Speyer, Schwetzingen, Mittweida, Augustusburg, Leipzig, Hannover)

2. I got to know my old friends better and got to know some cool new friends as well.
I honestly feel blessed (by whom?) for having so many Best Friends. Yea, Best FriendSss! I'm pretty sure that everyone has more than one best friend. Best friend at school, best friend at work, all-time-best-friend, best friend living in another country, best friend online etc. etc. etc.
I appreciate all these "Best-Friendships" and I promise that I'll treat all of them nicely. Nevertheless, the old best friends, you're now unofficially upgraded to another level... "better-best-friends" :)

3. I've learnt more about self-initiative, self-reliance and responsibility.
So, the story began with, I took one semester off to work on my doctor thesis. Going to the lab every morning on a regular basis and sit in front of the microscope for the whole day is just a normal daily routine now. Working overtime on weekends and public holidays shouldn't be something "pathetic". Work like a dog and ended up achieving no-results is not the "End of the World". And of course, working like(more than) any other post-doctorate in the lab and not getting paid is something we called "normal". All in all, you just have to be thankful that you're offered a position here in the lab for your doctor thesis.

4. I learnt how to open up, how to let go, how to trust, to listen to my heart slightly more than just my mind and learnt how to "give it a try". I learnt how to miss somebody so badly. Being in a "so-near-yet-so-far" relationship is not easy, indeed. It's basically built on trust, which was a big hurdle for me. It has been the main reason why I didn't want to get myself into one through all these years. To defend myself, I really wasn't playing "hard-to-get", I'm just a very typical "think-too-much" type of girl.

But now, thank you 2013, for conferring me a Shin Chan

ahemm no no, I mean, a Decent Man.
to Mr. Hübschen Mann

ps: more details upon personal request. I might try to consider to consider about considering you request.

Last but not least,
it's never too late to wish everyone a
Merry Christmas
(booo.... it's too late!!!)
and
Happy New Year
Guten Rutsch!
 ps: It was a crazy night in Hannover with these 5 great ladies.
Besides having Raclette, we (mostly "they") consumed up to 5 bottles of
Sparkling wine, 4 bottles of white wine, 3 bottles of Aperol and 1 bottle of Soju!!!

haha...

LOL

Don't worry!

 b)一个人过来问:"do you speak English?"
 d)一个非洲人拿着笔和纸过来问你:"do you want to save Africa?",另一个人趁机扒走你钱包。

Ikat Perut ar~ !!!

~~~明年见噜~~~
What can you do in Heidelberg during Winter?
When it comes to winter, most people will say, "ayer, so cold~ What can you do outside? Better stay inside your house and cuddle on a sofa in front of the TV like an old lady~"
Oh come on guys~ There's a lot more you can do here than counting down for 21.12.2012!
Step 1- "Trick" your brother who'd just started his studies in Germany to come to Heidelberg. With a fantastic you-cannot-resist reason "Heidelberg is nice/beautiful/fabulous.............."
view of Heidelberg from Castle
Step 2 - Assist his visit to the old-town of Heidelberg. Show him the beautiful part of the town, the little paths, the famous churches, as well as the famous Heidelberg-Brass-Monkey. And then.......
.
.
.
turn him into a Monkey! ;-)
Heidelberg old town
Church of the Holy Spirit
Monkey-Man!
Step 3 - "Force" your brother who hasn't been exercising for the past 2 years to walk all the way up the hill to the Heidelberg Castle, because it is the MOST IMPORTANT tourist attraction in Heidelberg.
Eh, come on la, I walked UP there too and DOWN some more, while he's riding that extremely crowded cable car~. AND they're just some sap-sap-sui 209steps.... (Batu caves has 272 steps...)
Please do blame that lazy fellow who didn't want to exercise.
took this picture because he "had to rest for a while" LOL
 Step 4 - When you have such a good camera man around you, please appreciate his existence and fully utilize him and his camera! wahahahahaha....
classic
epic!
Fake~ lol
Step 5 - And of course, you have to feed your dearest brother with good food, while you "accompanying" him during his meal, and finally...... make him pay the bill~ hohohoho XD
Turkish food is cheap, affordable, big portioned and delicious!
Step 6 - Eventually, you can bring him along while visiting your guest family in Germany (if you have one of course). So that everyone knows that you're a good JieJie~ buahahaha~
Final statement: I'm a good sister, NO DOUBT, because I'm snow white~~~
Have fun in Winter!!!
德国的第四个冬天
没写这篇 blog 还真的没发觉时间过得这么快!我“竟然”、“已经”、“正在”经历着我在德国的第四个冬天!OMG!!!
今天海德堡总算下了第一场雪,比起往年算是迟了一些些。起床时随手拍了一张窗外的风景放上facebook,竟然在短短的时间内得到快30个“like”... 看来这些“随便乱拍得风景图”比本人的脸来的值钱啊... *翻桌子*
窗外雪景
最近不是念书、就是念书,阿不然就看看电影或电视剧。虽然说有些无聊,可是真的很忙、几乎天天早出晚归、连要看见太阳都难。
别人有爱情的滋润,吃面包、喝水就会饱。
本人有书本的摧残,废寝忘食都不会 =.=! WHY???!!!
最近看了几部法国电影,发现法国人拍电影的手法挺细腻的。不懂是不是人老了(?!),已经慢慢不想一味地随波逐流、逼迫自己去看一些所谓的商业电影。其实一部好电影不需要什么大风大浪、还是刻苦铭心的爱情故事,只要能反映一些生活上琐碎的小事、人与人之间的互动,就足以让人热泪盈眶。
1. Intouchables 《触不可及》
在一次跳伞运动事故后,菲利普,一位富有的贵族下肢瘫痪,只能坐在轮椅上,生活无法自理,因此他找了黑人青年Driss来家里帮佣。这是一位郊区的年轻人,刚从监狱出来。简单来说这是最不适合这份工作的人选。两个世界相互碰撞,融合,于是一段不可思议的、奇妙的友情诞生了。这是独一无二的关系,碰撞出许多火花。而这段关系也使他们变得无坚不摧
2. Les Chorites 《放牛班的春天》 *strongly recommended*
音乐家克莱蒙馬修,在歷經挫折放弃了个人的音乐理想、並發誓永不再作曲,来到一所育兒院做代課老師。在学校里的學生们,多数都是问题學生。克莱蒙发现,哈善院長及其他老師們对学生的管制非常的严厉,而这种管理制度并没有起到太好的效果。于是克莱蒙开始用音乐试图来接触學生们,他打破誓言重新拿起了空白樂譜创作,组织学生们建立合唱团。孩子们开始喜欢了歌唱,并一同克制学校们领导层给合唱团带来的困难。电影歌颂了教师人性化的教育方法,表达出音乐是传达情感和感化的一种好方式,同时也揭示了失去父母的孩子们内心的痛苦。
ps: 可以在Youtube找到这部电影!Just search for "Les Chorites/The Choir"
我blog的背景音乐就是来自这部电影!叫作Les Avions En Papier (纸飞机),真的百听不厌! =D
最后献上几张连风景图都不如的“便宜货”,预祝大家圣诞节快乐!(我自己是没在庆祝啦,只是应应景而已。哈哈!)
冬天怎能少了Glühwein(热红酒)的陪衬呢?
